In a strategic move that consolidates its long-term presence in the Iberian energy sector, Dos Grados has acquired two photovoltaic solar parks in Tordesillas, each with an installed capacity of 52 MWp.<\/p>\n\n
This operation, acquired from Q-Energy and financed by Banco Santander, marks the company\u2019s entry into the Spanish renewable electricity generation market as its first ready-to-build project in Spain, and is expected to have a positive economic impact on the region.<\/p>\n\n
The location of these projects, situated just 300 kilometers from the operational photovoltaic solar plant the company owns in Fund\u00e3o, Portugal, allows Dos Grados to optimize its operational and logistical management. With this acquisition, the company is strategically positioned to leverage synergies between both markets and strengthen its renewable energy development capacity.<\/p>\n\n
The projects, which will begin construction in the coming weeks, will be grouped under the name of the Tordesillas photovoltaic solar plant and will be located in the municipality of Villalar de los Comuneros, Valladolid, near Tordesillas.<\/p>\n\n
With an investment of approximately \u20ac80 million, it is estimated that the energy generated by these parks will be enough to supply the energy consumption of around 58,847 households and will avoid the emission of 790,882 tons of CO\u2082, thereby contributing to the local economic development and sustainability of the energy sector. During the construction phase alone, the plant will have an impact on Spain\u2019s GDP of around \u20ac72 million in supply, construction, and assembly costs, and will generate approximately 460 jobs, including direct, indirect, and induced employment.<\/p>\n\n
The Tordesillas solar plant, with an installed capacity of 105 MWp, will contribute to consolidating the 600 MW portfolio of sustainable energy assets that Dos Grados currently holds on the Iberian Peninsula at different stages of development. At present, the company is already working on the permitting of a nearby wind project that will be hybridized with the solar plant.<\/p>\n\n
These projects not only mark a milestone for Dos Grados entering the Iberian market but also contribute to the country\u2019s sustainability and energy transition objectives.
