The CEO and founder of Dos Grados participated in the Cultura Emprende program on Radio Intereconomía to analyze the role of renewable hybridization, energy storage and long-term investment in the energy transition.
Luis Palacios, CEO and founder of Dos Grados, participated in the Cultura Emprende program on Radio Intereconomía, where he shared the company’s vision on investment in sustainable real assets and the main challenges of the energy transition in the Iberian Peninsula.
During the interview, Palacios explained that Dos Grados is in a stage of consolidation and growth after several years developing a portfolio of renewable projects in Spain and Portugal. The company is now moving into a new phase focused on the construction, operation and long-term management of its assets in Iberia.
One of the main topics addressed was renewable hybridization with batteries, an essential solution for managing the intermittency of renewable energies and providing flexibility to the electricity system. In this context, he also highlighted the need to optimize the use of existing grids by combining different technologies.
Portugal was a prominent part of the conversation. The CEO of Dos Grados recalled that the Portuguese market is strategic for Dos Grados, within a clearly Iberian vision of the energy transition. The company’s experience in Fundão represents an example of the model that Dos Grados wants to consolidate: to develop, build, finance and operate renewable and storage assets with a vocation for permanence.
He also pointed out that the sector faces relevant challenges, such as the management of systems with high renewable penetration, the development of large-scale storage and the territorial integration of projects.
Looking ahead to 2026, Dos Grados will focus its efforts on consolidating its portfolio and strengthening its positioning as an investor in sustainable real assets, with a long-term approach and commitment to the environment.
