Dos Grados completes restoration work on the Pêro Viseu bridge

Also known as Dos Moinhos bridge, the Pêro Viseu bridge is located over the Meimoa stream, linking the parishes of Valverde and Pêro Viseu. In 2002 it was classified as an Asset of Public Interest.

The bridge underwent conservation, restoration and enhancement works in 2024, with a total budget of 158,630 €. These works were part of the environmental and heritage improvement measures that Dos Grados has carried out in the framework of the implementation of the photovoltaic solar central, CSF Fundão, located in the vicinity of the bridge.

The aim of these actions is to enhance the value of this Asset of Public Interest, which is highly valued locally and in the region.

This project has not only revitalised an important local heritage, but also represents an opportunity to reaffirm Dos Grados’ commitment to sustainability and the well-being of local communities.

Among the actions implemented were the removal of soil and gravel deposits from the deck, the removal of microflora accumulated on the stone elements, the filling of joints and gaps in the pavement with appropriate mortars, and the replacement of the original deck railings, fallen on both sides of the bridge and in the river itself.
