Marks its entry into the portuguese energy market
Yesterday, Dos Grados inaugurated the solar photovoltaic plant in Fundão, in the municipality of Castelo Branco. This project, which represents an investment of 90 million euros, marks its entry into the Portuguese energy market and reinforces its commitment to the energy transition in the Iberian Peninsula.
The event was attended by Maria João Pereira, Secretary of State for Energy of Portugal, and Paulo Fernandes, President of the Municipal Chamber of Fundão, who visited the facilities and highlighted the economic, social, and environmental benefits of the project.
Since the beginning of construction, Dos Grados has worked to generate a positive impact on the local community, not only through employment and wealth generation in the area but also with projects such as the restoration of the Pêro Viseu bridge and the promotion of environmental and energy education with school activities and agreements with the university.
Yesterday, Dos Grados took another step by signing two collaboration agreements with the Municipal Chamber of Fundão. The first aims to form a multidisciplinary team to lead a pilot project to implement an energy community in Fundão. The second aims to promote and encourage the grazing of the merina da beira baixa sheep, a native breed of the region, to monitor rural and forest areas and prevent fires.
