Dos Grados organizes an ornithology day in Fundão

The activity, carried out in collaboration with local schools, promoted biodiversity awareness through workshops and the installation of nesting boxes around a solar plant.

Yesterday, a very special event took place in Fundão (Portugal), organized by Dos Grados in collaboration with the schools of Pêro Viseu, Alcaria, and Valverde. More than 100 children participated in an environmental education initiative aimed at raising awareness of the importance of protecting local biodiversity.

During the day, students attended an ornithology workshop, learned to identify native bird species, and actively participated in decorating and installing nesting boxes around the natural area of our solar plant and the parish of Pêro Viseu, where the workshop was held. This action seeks to create safe habitats for birds, thereby fostering the regeneration and balance of the ecosystem.

The area where the plant is located stands out for its rich and diverse biodiversity, extending far beyond birds. Wild species such as roe deer, foxes, and wild boars regularly inhabit the area, benefiting from a peaceful, regenerated, and safe environment. The presence of these animals reflects the good ecological condition of the region and demonstrates that it is possible to combine renewable energy production with the preservation of local fauna and flora.

The event saw active participation from the entire company team, further highlighting Dos Grados’ direct commitment to the environment and to local communities.

These types of initiatives are part of Dos Grados’ sustainable and integrated investment approach in the territory, where each project seeks not only to generate energy but also to create social and environmental value.
